2011 CLUB NEWS
Posted 15 Nov 2011 - The Stateline Club Classic was held 12/13 Nov 2011 on the Chickahominy River, Va. out of River's Rest Marina. Jim Leavis and Chris Vitovich took home top honors with a two-day total weight of 27.2 lbs! Second place went to Eddie Confer and Darrell Kidd with 20.2 lbs! Darrell Kidd also had big fish with an impressive 6 lb swamp donkey that fell for a black & blue jig. Third place went to Mark Ingram and Bob Clarkson with 15.2 lbs. Weather conditions made fishing the main body challenging as winds blew in excess of 15-20 kts all three days. Club anglers found themselves predominately fishing the wind protected areas of Daiscund Creek, throwing jigs, crankbaits and spinnerbaits. There were even reports of fish hitting Spro frogs in the cooler 55 degree waters! Special thanks to the folks at Rivers Rest for taking care of us. Congratulations to all the winners!

Posted 14 Aug 2011- This month our club ventured to the Nottoway River in Franklin, VA. While there were no real patterns found during the tourney, most teams reported best results were found fishing the pads. Topwater frogs, plastics, and crankbaits were the baits of choice. Mark & Bob took first place and lunker with 10.14 lbs & 3.12 lbs respectively. Second place went to Bruce & Jim with 8.10 lbs. Paul & Robert took third with 7.0 lbs. The place winners all had five fish limits, two other teams also managed a limit. Congrats to Mark & Bob on their win!
Posted 10 July 2011- Our July tournament was held on Back Bay out of Game Warden Hq's. Over night and early morning rains made for tough flooded /stained water conditions. As always several teams still found the fish. Darrell & Eddie took first will 11.4 lbs. Mark & Bob took second with 9.12 lbs. Ronnie & Chad finished third with 9.6 lbs, they also had big fish with 3.8 lbs. Congrats to all the place winners!
Posted 11 June 2011- Our June tournament on the North Landing River produced some pretty good sacks. Most teams reported a good early morning top water bite followed by a decent afternoon bite. Leading the way was Ronnie with his 14.10lb sack along with his 4.12 lunker of the day. Jim & Chris took second with their 11.8lb bag, while Kevin & Rex finished third with 11.4 lbs. Eleven of the fifteen teams brought a limit to the scales. Congratulations to Ronnie and all the other winners!
Posted 15 May 2011- Our May tournament was held on the North River out of Coinjock. The rising water made the fishing tough and the strong winds prevented any long runs. Only four limits were brought to the scales. Kevin & Rex managed a great sack with 14.8 lbs pounds for first place. Mark & Bob took second with 9.8 pounds. Nelson & David finished third with 9.6 pounds. Rex had big fish and took over the lunker lead with his 6.8 pound hawg. I apologize for the missed pics, I had a little camera malfunction. Congrats to all the winners!
Posted 10 April 2011- WOW! The Pasquotank gave up some nice sacks yesterday as we established a new club record for total weight with over 130 pounds weighed. Kevin & Rex placed first with 15.6 lbs. Bruce & Jim took second and big fish with 13.8 lbs & 5.4 lbs. Nelson & David also had 13.8 lbs but lost the big fish tie-breaker and finished third. Congrats to all the winners!
Posted 13 March 2011- Our first tourney of the season proved to be tougher than anticipated for most. Many teams reported the fish were not playing or the bite only lasted a short while. As always, a few teams figured them out. Congrats to Mark & Bob for their 1st place finish with 8.4 lbs. Robert & guest Chris V. finished 2nd with 8.2 lbs. Kevin & Rex finished 3rd with 7.8 lbs. Chaz & Charlie took the big fish honors with their 3.2 pounder.
